061009: Lincoln Ryder Alleman is nine months old! At his check-up, he was in the 98th percentile for his height and 3rd percentile for his weight. The Pediatrician is not worried because Lincoln has been so healthy, and he is just really tall and thin naturally. But we are going to fatten up the little fella! We have started to spike all of his food with formula, and just keep feeding him like crazy! It is not like we didn't feed him a lot before, but now he is eating all of the time :) I feel like he has gained a few pounds in the last few days. We have been really lucky that he loves to eat and that he has been so strong. He loves anything that he can pick up with his little pincer grasp and put in his mouth.
Lincoln has started to scoot all over the place, at first he could go around in a circle and spin really fast. Then he started scooting backwards, and then he figured out he could pull himself forward too! It is so fun to watch, he is really strong! He has started crawling up everyone too, and pulls on everything to try and pull himself up. We have been letting him experiment at the bottom of the stairs to practice using his knees. Once he figures out that he can use those, he is going to be crawling all over the place. I can wait for that :)
Another thing that Lincoln has discovered; is that he can dance! If you sing to him, he seriously shakes his head and starts grooving to the music! He likes to head bang a little bit, it is really cute. When you stop singing, or the music stops, he stops dancing, but then you start again and he starts up...so cute! He also loves to ride the pony and loves to do his little hip thrusts too! He is the funniest little guy.
Lincoln understands a lot of what is going on around him, it really amazes me. He is always interested in whatever is happening, and wants to be a part of it. Whatever is in front of him, or behind him, or anywhere close to him, he has to check it out. Preferably, he wants to pick it up and inspect it, play with it and put it in his mouth! You can just see the little wheels in his head turning, because he is analyzing and learning from everything around him.
He is a great listener too, if you ask him a question, he will respond! He loves to say "Yes" and "No" with his head shakes. If you say, "Do you like this" he will shake his head "yes" or "no". It is really funny to watch. And if you shake your head "yes", he shakes his head side to side and follows you, or "No" he shakes his little head up and down. He is getting really cute with our puppy Roxy too. He will always look for her when you ask "Where's Roxy?" and is usually fascinated by her, watching her ever movement. He is such a sweet little guy with his Roxy love...he always tries to pet her and has even started trying to kiss her too!
One of his most favorite things to do right now, is be really playful. He is so happy, but when he wants to play, he will let you know. He sticks out his tongue and starts blowing raspberries. He really likes to play and have you do it back to him. Lincoln gets so excited and moves his arms and kicks his legs. He loves to play and wrestle with his daddy, it is so adorable. Lately too, he is making the cutest noises. He discovered that he can squeal really loud and does it to get your attention. It starts out softer and then gets louder as he gets more passionate about it. He lets you know pretty quickly if he wants or does not like something. The sound just makes me laugh, because it is seriously the highest pitch...what a cutie.
Mr. Lincoln went to the Zoo for the first time! Anthony, Lincoln and I went with his cousins Carter, Eli and Brooks, Aunt Ruby and Grandma Nancy! It was so much fun. Lincoln absolutely loved watching the animals. I was surprised at how aware he was, and did not think he would get much out of it. But he was fixated on some of the animals. He loved the Cougar...he just kept watching it prowl back and forth and actually reached for it. Then he saw the Cheetah and would not take his eyes off of it! Anthony was so funny and made friends with a little spider monkey! When we were leaving we asked Lincoln if he had fun and he shook his head "yes" and then we asked if he liked the big cats, if they were his favorite. He said "yes" and so we asked if he liked the cheetah the best...he got a serious look on his face and shook his head "no", so we asked if he liked the Tiger the best and he shook his head "yes". It was so funny. We got it on video! Good times! He is growing up fast, and it is reminder for me to keep enjoying every minute.

LINCOLN IS SIX MONTHS OLD!
03/10/09 We have a six month old! I remember when Lincoln was born like it was yesterday, but at the same time, I feel like I have known him my whole life. I don't know what we did without him in our family...I definitely don't remember what life was like before him. Long gone are the days when I could get a full night's sleep, and when we could just pick up and go anytime we wanted...but it is interesting how I no longer care and feel that any sacrifice is so worth it! I love that little guy...I don't know what I would do without his cute little smile and tiny laugh. Every day that I spend with him, I am grateful that he is healthy and happy. He is still such a peaceful little baby...so patient and sweet.
He has made so much progress over the last couple of months...it is amazing. He rolls over any time you put him on his tummy...he loves to be on his back and doesn't like to roll from there, or be off it for long, so he flips over pretty quickly. It is really funny to watch. He does a tiny little crunch up onto his knees and then just turns over. I love it. He is smiling all of the time too. His smile lights up my life. I love to see Lincoln smile and to hear him laugh. It is amazing how just those simple things can transform my day. I love that little boy! He has been sleeping pretty consistently through the night for a couple of months now. I am so grateful for that! He goes to bed on his own, and does really well. When we tried teaching him to sleep it was hard at first, not only to let him cry, but also because he kept waking up cold in the middle of the night. He has a big window in his room and even though we have the heat turned up his hands were always chilly. So after a few nights of trying, I finally decided to keep him really warm - so I swaddled him, put a little beanie on his head, socks on his feet, mittens on his hands and a couple of blankets on top and it worked like a charm! He has been doing great ever since.
My favorite time with Lincoln is still bath time. I love to watch him splash! Lincoln is so content in the water, he would be happy to stay in the tub for as long as possible. He is also LOVING solid foods. He would eat anything you put in front of him, Lincoln is always opening his mouth to share a bite of whatever you have! We have a funny picture of him trying to eat a piece of pizza. Obviously we would never give him a bite of anything, but he is pretty content with rice cereal, peas, carrots and sweet potatoes. Anthony's most favorite time with Lincoln is when he gets to feed him. Anth gets so proud at how well Lincoln is doing and laughs all of the time at the funny things he does. Lincoln just loves his daddy, and Anthony just loves his little boy blue! What a cute daddy he is!
Today at the doctor's office for his Six Month checkup, it was the first time I have ever seen Lincoln get nervous. He is normally the happiest baby on the block! He loves to interact with people that he knows and smiles even for strangers. As soon as the Dr. came into the office, he literally clenched his fist and grabbed onto my hand for dear life. It was sad to think that he might have remembered getting shots in the same place. I have never seen the look that was on his face, or his skepticism before. He was really brave with his shots and only cried for a few seconds; I can't believe how strong he is. Lincoln is my inspiration. He weighed 14.94 pounds and was 27.3 inches long, which puts him in the 8% for his weight and 79% for his height. That means that only 21% of babies are taller than he is and that 92% of babies his age weigh more than he does. The doctor tested him for anemia just to make sure that wasn't a problem, but the test came back normal. He thinks that it is just genetics...lucky kid!
Although we can't believe we have a six month old, celebrating his half birthday, we also want to wish Lincoln's (and our) friends a happy day too!
~Miss Kayla, who is now THREE years old! We remember the pictures of you in your mommie's tummy - we could see your little nose and your Daddy was so excited to show everyone how cute you were! When you were born, you were so tiny! Your mommy and Daddy couldn't wait to finally take you home and hold you in their arms. You were your mommie's little buddy and I am sure you still are in Sunny CA! I am sure you probably won't recognize us the next time we see you, but know that we love you and we miss you little lady! Jen and Jose, we miss you and love you forever. Thank you for being our friends. Even though you are far away, we think of you often and our hearts are with you. We can't wait to meet the bun in the oven...congrats!
~Miss Addie, who is already ONE! Thanks for going on Lincoln's first date with him...you will always be his first love, you little cougar you. I remember when I found out your Mommy was pregnant and that you were going to be a girl! When your Mommy and I were younger, while she was dreaming of your daddy, we joked that if they ever got married they would have blue-eyed, blond curly-haired babies :) It was meant to be because they got married and then you came along! And here you are with beautiful blue eyes, cute blond curly hair and an adorable smile. Your Mommy and Daddy love you so much. Your Mommy told me that when you were born all she wanted to do was look at you all of the time. She even made the most beautiful dress for you so that you would look beautiful when your Daddy blessed you. I think your Daddy kind of likes you too :) We can't wait to watch you grow! Maybe you and Lincoln can go on another first date when you both turn 16! Meg, I can't tell you in words how much I love you. Thank you for being a bright light in my life. Chris, I am so glad that it was written in the stars for you to be with each other. Thank you so much for treating Meg like the princess she is. We appreciate your friendship :)
We send our love to all of our family and friends...you have influenced us more than you will ever know. Our little family humbly thanks each and every one of you for the countless acts of love and kindness.

LINCOLN IS FOUR MONTHS OLD!
01/10/09 Little Lincoln is Four Months Old! At his checkup, he weighed 13.44 pounds and measured 25.9 inches. That puts him in the 20% for his weight and 82% for his height. He is a tall and skinny baby; the pediatrician did not seem to be concerned because he is still gaining weight. His clothes are all too short for him and too big because he has really long legs and arms and a thin torso…such a cutie. It was sad as usual to see Lincoln get shots. I think this time he knew what was coming because as the nurse was cleaning his leg, he looked at me as if to say “save me”. He was really brave though and calmed down soon after delivering the most heart-wrenching sound you can imagine. He is our strong and brave little guy.
Lincoln has been learning a lot of cool new tricks! He can now blow bubbles…and loves it when you imitate him! Now that he has learned how to pull off his socks, Lincoln loves to suck on his toes! Actually, he pretty much sucks on everything he can and he is constantly trying to hug things too. His favorites are his teddy bear, blankey and his little elephant cuddly. At this point, he is getting pretty coordinated with grasping things too. He likes to hold onto his binky and will often take it out and tries to put it back in. If you put anything in his front pocket, like his cute little stuffed animal frog friend, he will grab it. He usually tries to put it in his mouth only to drop it shortly after; but it makes us proud. Lately too, Lincoln has been able to turn on a little push-light that we have by his changing table; he loves to stare at the light. The other day, he was playing with his little musical fish and hit the button twice to turn on the music. Lincoln loves music, playing on the radio and especially when you sing to him. He also seems to be mesmerized by is the sound of running water.
One of Lincoln’s favorite new things to do is to do a workout with his Daddy. Anthony will hold Lincoln’s hands, urging him to do a crunch to sit up and then he will pull slightly on his hands to have him stand up. We are surprised at how strong the little guy is; Lincoln does most of the work on his own and he just loves it! He also loves it when you talk to him and he is really funny because he will get excited, but then he will get embarrassed while trying to bury his head and suck on something. He has been so much calmer lately; I think his colic is getting better. We are happy to have our smiley little guy again! Lincoln has the cutest smile; it gives you the best feeling in the world. One of my favorite things that Lincoln does is when he touches my face and runs his hand through my hair. He is really gentle most of the time, except when he gets really excited and likes to pull. I think he just loves soft things. Lincoln also loves to pet Roxy and is fascinated with her. Roxy loves to be as close to Lincoln as possible and he loves watching her every move. Lincoln always reaches for her and loves to rub his hands on her fur. It is adorable; they are going to be the best of friends.

LINCOLN'S BLESSING
01/01/09 Lincoln’s blessing day was awesome. We had so many family members and friends there to support us, that it was amazing. Anthony and I were very grateful that so many people love us and are so willing to be involved in our lives. I think our family took up half of the chapel, leaving the people in our ward to look for seats. It meant so much to us that Anthony was able to be the one to bless our (not so little - almost four month old) baby, and to officially give him the name Lincoln Ryder Alleman. The blessing Anthony gave Lincoln was so special. It was more beautiful than I can describe in words. It was truly a blessed day for our family. It is amazing how much a child can change everything about your life in a heartbeat. Little Lincoln has already had such an amazing influence in our lives and we look forward to watching him continue to bring out the good in others.
We had an incredible testimony meeting after the blessing and were very lucky to have several family members and friends bear witness of the truthfulness of the gospel. Our hearts were definitely filled with the spirit and were so humbled. After the blessing it was so much fun to have everyone over to our humble abode. I am surprised that we were able to fit everyone in our little house; we were lucky no one seemed to mind standing! We were very grateful that so many people helped us out with all of the delicious food. Seriously, the food was so yummy. Thanks so much again to all of our friends and family for everything you do for us and for your wonderful examples.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!
12/24/08 & 12/25/08 Merry Christmas! We had an amazing Christmas this year. It was absolutely incredible to share it with little Lincoln. He was the best Christmas present we could have ever wished for. It is kind of funny, I remember last Christmas we took Michael, my sweet little brother, with us to see Santa and he told us he was going to ask Santa to bring us a baby. Santa finally delivered :)
On Christmas Eve, we had our traditional Hermansen dinner at Tepanyaki with my Mom's side of the family. I think we took over the entire restaurant, but it was fun to see everyone. As always, it was so yummy! After dinner, we went to visit the Warner’s in the hospital, as Grandma Warner was in rehab from major back surgery. Normally the Warner’s entertain Anthony's side of the family and usually have a visit from Santa. This year, we all brought the party to her little hospital room.
Christmas Day was eventful as always, but even more fun with the little fella! Anthony, Lincoln, Roxy and I woke up and opened our presents. With all of the madness this year, we didn’t even get a tree or decorate. ..kind of sad, but easier to clean up! We had a great time watching Lincoln play with the wrapping paper and bows. He liked the texture and tried to eat most of it! Little Roxy was adorable too…she discovered that if she put her nose in some of the bags that she would find treats. So she checked out every single one!
After we opened our presents, we made the rounds to our traditional family stops. We went to the Alleman’s, the Eichers and the Murray’s. It is always fun to spend time with all of our family that lives here in Salt Lake. We missed the family that lives out of town, and are really lucky that we are able to see so many people each holiday. Everyone was so generous and considerate; overall it was a great day. It is neat to think how much more magical Christmas will be each year, as Lincoln grows in his amazement.
12/31/08 & 01/01/09 Happy New Year! To celebrate, this year, we had a family party at the Eichers' home. We played games and ate yummy food until midnight. Cute little Lincoln was asleep the whole time, but hopefully next year he can bang on some pots and pans, like Anthony and I both used to do when we were little. That weekend, we went to Midway to hang out at the Eichers' cabin. As usual, it was a lot of fun to hang out up there, because there are always fun things to do. We love to play games, the Wii, sing Karaoke (or at least try) and watch movies in the theatre room. It is definitely nice to get away and just relax for a change of pace.
This time, Anthony, Caitlin, Colbie and I decided to go sledding! We got dressed in our snow gear and set out to find a place. Close by we found a large hill, and noticed that there was a trail where a deer had climbed the mountain. We used that path to make a really steep and long luge run for us to sled down. It took us a long time, because there was so much powder and we had to pack down a lot of snow, but it was seriously amazing when we were done! The run started half way up the mountain, and had several turns and a small jump. After a few runs down it, the path started getting really fast. Sometimes you would go so fast that your tube would flip around causing you to go down the remainder of the run backwards! It was seriously so much fun!
After a little break and some lunch, we decided to get Lincoln bundled up and took him on his first sledding trip! He looked so cute in about five layers of clothing and snuggled in the baby Bjorn. At first we took him down just the very bottom part, to see how he would like it. The ride was so smooth that he slept through most of it! So we decided to take him on the big slide! He liked it a lot, until Anthony hit the little jump, causing them to stop and then Lincoln started to cry. Once they started moving again, though, he calmed down and loved the rest of the run. He is such a trooper! We made sure to document the occasion with the video camera and even took it down a few runs so that we could remember how much fun we had! :)

He is such a trooper! We made sure to document the occasion with the video camera and even took it down a few runs so that we could remember how much fun we had! :)

LINCOLN IS THREE MONTHS OLD!
12/10/08 Baby Lincoln is already three months old! He has changed so much and is so well developed, it is amazing. Lincoln is adorable and I think he just keeps getting cuter each day. I am absolutely amazed when I look at pictures from even one month ago, that he has grown so big! He is definitely not a new born anymore. He has these beautiful light blue eyes, really long eyelashes and lots of blonde hair.
He is so much fun to be around; he is a little sweetheart and is always trying to interact by cooing, smiling and laughing. His smile just melts my heart, it is so precious and I love the little sounds he makes. Sometimes he will furrow his brows and let out a little sigh. He loves it when you talk to him or sing to him. He even tries to sing along, or will bob his head to the music. He is funny too because he has just developed a little laugh/fake cough to get our attention. How can you resist that? He is a smart boy and already knows how to get Mommy and Daddy’s attention.
Lincoln is so much more aware of what is going on around him now. He loves to look around and stare at anything in his sight just to take it all in. You can tell he is learning a lot and will immediately smile when he recognizes us. We put a mirror up by his changing table and he loves to stare at his reflection. He thinks he is pretty funny and laughs at his own conversation. Lincoln likes it when he can see Mom or Dad in the mirror too. Lincoln is still sleeping really well, but he has had a little bit of colic. We feel so bad when he cries because we just wish we could help him. I have tried to eliminate some of the foods that might be bothering him, so hopefully he starts feeling better soon.
By far, Lincoln’s most favorite thing to do is to take a bath. This kid is already a little fish! The second he gets in the bath, even if he was upset, he calms down and starts smiling. He loves to rock his body from side to side and kick like crazy. Mommy usually gets a bath too because he is such a good little splasher! He tries to lick the washcloth but then gets a funny look on his face when it doesn’t taste very good. He loves the warm water and is always sad to get out of the tub. I love to see him in his little hooded towels and cuddle him. He always smells so good and is so funny to watch, we love it!
When we change Lincoln, he likes to hold his feet up in the air until we are done…he is such a nice little helper! We are glad he likes to be changed now, because he used to cry every time. Now he can’t get enough of it and loves when you tickle or blow on his tummy. I think he likes the feel of his skin and he loves to rub his feet and legs together. He has just started to cross his feet and hold them together for a little while. He has discovered how much fun his hands can be and likes to reach for things. He loves to hold his hands together and will just hold them under his chin or put them in his mouth. He likes to watch his fingers move as he wiggles them. He also loves to suck on and lick things; like his hands, your arm, his binky or the baby Bjorn. His little tiny tongue is adorable; when you give him a kiss he will stick out his tongue in anticipation and then just keep sticking it out and in…so funny! He’s a doll!
Little Lincoln loves tummy time and is a pro at holding his head up on his own. He can even sit up by himself for a little while. Last weekend he rolled over for the very first time! It was so cute! We were hanging out with the Eichers side of the family doing some Christmas Shopping at The Gateway, for our traditional Marriot Weekend. Lincoln was lying on his tummy on the hotel bed, and just started moving and slowly rolled over. We were all so excited that we kind of scared him and he got this sad frown and unsure look on his face before he started to let out a little cry…sad but so cute! It was really cool and I was lucky enough to get it on video!

LINCOLN IS TWO MONTHS OLD!
11/10/08 I can’t believe my little man is already two months old. He is developing and changing so fast. Lincoln had his Two-Month Check-Up and he had already grown so much! He is now 11 pounds 12 ounces and is already 24 ¾ inches long! He is in the 96% for his height and has very long feet – he is going to be a tall guy! When the nurse gave Lincoln his shots, he let out a cry I have never heard before and it just about broke my heart. It was so sad to see his tears, but it was even harder to say goodbye to him shortly after. I felt like I left a piece of my heart with him as I drove away to go back to work full-time. The week before, I was fortunate enough to bring him with me to work for a few hours each day.
My heart is very heavy knowing that I have to lock part of myself away for a time and be without him. He is in good hands though, as Lincoln is lucky to spend a lot of time with his daddy during the day! We are thankful too that we have sweet grandmas who are excited to help us out. Anthony, Grandma Shirley and Grandma Nancy even brought him to visit me at work a few days this week so that I could feed him. It made me so happy to see my little guy. It melts my heart that he will smile and coo at me as soon as I see him. I love that!! He is such a sweet baby and is smiling and making cute sounds all of the time – he is adorable! It is hard to be away from him, but I am grateful to have an amazing job and an incredibly supportive family.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
10/31/08 Little Lincoln had a really fun first Halloween! We dressed up as 101 Dalmatians…he looked adorable! Roxy was a little Dalmatian too…she had white spray painted spots…so cute! I dressed up as Cruella Deville and Anthony was Horace, the puppy snatcher; he looked awesome! Lincoln went with me to work to see everyone and eat lunch with Uncle Eric. After that we visited Grandma Leslie at school and said hi to all of her school kids. Then we went to visit Grandpa Lane and hung out with him at his work for awhile. After Anthony got home from work, we visited the Alleman’s and saw Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Glen, Aunt Ruby, Uncle Sam, Cousins Eli and Brooks, Aunt Ann and Great-Grandma and Grandpa Warner at their house. We also went to Grandma Shirley’s and Grandpa Pres’s house to see Aunt Caitlin and Colbie and have some yummy scones! Megan and Chris Hart stopped by and Lincoln got to see his buddy Addie!

LINCOLN IS SIX WEEKS OLD!
10/22/08 Our little Lincoln is six weeks old today...and growing up fast! It is amazing how much he has changed in the last few weeks. He is now over 11.5 pounds! His arms and legs are so long they don't fit into most newborn outfits. He will definitely be a tall boy! I am so happy that he is so healthy and thriving. He is an amazing little guy.
Lincoln has started to make the cutest little noises...he is smiling a lot! He even laughed the other day - it made Anthony laugh so hard; it was adorable. He is starting to interact with us a lot more too, and it is really fun. When I feed him, I always rub his little feet and he likes to hold onto my finger for comfort. He is a little lover boy, really sweet and tender. He loves to be in contact with skin, and loves to be held because he likes to nuzzle his little face into your neck; I love it.
He has the most beautiful eyes, they are light blue and will probably stay that way since Anthony and I both have light blue eyes. Lincoln's eyes are so big and are always looking at the world with wonder. My favorite thing is when he wakes up in the morning because he is swaddled and just has his cute little head poking out. He is always content and just likes to look around. I love to gaze at him, he is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
From the very early days Lincoln has tried to hold his head up and is now doing it almost all of the time by himself. His legs are really strong too...he can support his own weight and it is really cute when he tries to walk like a big guy! He also loves tummy time and the other day I put him on his side and he rolled to his tummy. It will be fun to see him roll over on his own in the next little while. He is so cute when he wakes up from a nap...he loves to stetch. He makes the cutest faces and little noises while he moves his arms all around. So much fun to watch :)
Roxy has been incredible with Lincoln. She really loves him! She still continues to bring him her favorite toys and always wants to be near him. When I feed him, she curls up right next to us - I love it. If I ever lay him down on the bed, she likes to be as close to him as possible. She is very gentle with him and is always aware of him so that she does not jump on him. She tries to lick him as if he were her puppy and when I tell her that she can't lick his face, she will gently lick his arm or lightly nudge him with her nose. It is really cute; I think she is just trying to tell him that she loves him. They will be the best of friends one day and in the meantime she will be a great big sister and will protect her little brother.
Lincoln loves to take baths; the other day he was kicking his feet and splashing around in his little tub. He also loves to shower with Anthony! I think he will be a little swimmer like his Daddy! Lincoln also loves to go on walks with his Mommy. Man, we love the Baby Bjorn, it has been amazing! He also loves his swing and his little bouncy chair :)

He is what I refer to as a "gourmet eater" because he loves to taste before he eats and it makes me laugh because he is so animated about it. He turns his head from side to side and likes to lick a little before starting to eat. I just can't get enough of my little sweetheart.
Since we brought him home from the hospital Lincoln has been a great baby and has slept very well. We have been really lucky that he has slept between 3 and four hours each night. There have been a few nights where he has slept for 5 hours at a time. Last night was the best so far, he actually slept for over 6 hours! We were so excited. He has just been amazing...I could not ask for anything more.
Time is going faster than I would like and I am going back to work in a couple weeks...that will be hard and I will really miss my little guy. He will be in good hands with Grandma Shirley and Grandma Nancy though. I will just have to get my little fella fix through webcam! I am very thankful for a very supportive family that loves Lincoln so much. Being a mom is the most amazing thing in the world. Anthony and I are truly blessed.
We ordered our baby announcement and it is so cute! We will send them out as soon as we receive them...and I will also post the electronic version on our blog so that all can see! :)

LINCOLN RYDER ALLEMAN
09/10/2008 We are happy to announce the arrival of our new little fella Lincoln Ryder Alleman, born at 11:56PM on September 10th, 2008. Anthony and I are so lucky to be the parents of this amazing little guy. We had an incredible experience with the labor and delivery...it was truly life changing and could not have been more perfect. I went into labor Wednesday afternoon and drove myself to the hospital at around 6:30; Anthony left work and met me there shortly after.
When I arrived at the hospital, I was dilated to a 4 and went through natural labor without pain medication until I was 8 centimeters. Anthony was very supportive of me while I went through the contractions; I could not have done it without him. After having strong contractions that were only a minute apart I had a 6 minute long contraction, which was the turning point for me and I asked for an epidural. Man, that anesthesiologist is my new best friend! My experience turned from one that was very intense and painful, to one full of anticipation - very relaxed and positive. I felt like a million bucks and could not have been happier!
After being fully dilated to a ten for some time, my water finally broke. We had to wait for the doctor to finish a surgery before I could start pushing, and I was watching the clock because it was after 11PM. I told Anth that I did not want to have Lincoln on 9/11, the first time I had mentioned a date that I did not want him to come, considering that I was about week overdue. At 11:50PM I told the Doctor and family members in the room that I had only ten minutes to get him out. With determination and his head just starting to show, I pushed like crazy until he was born 6 minutes later. It was amazing, but I am very determined when I set my mind to something! :)
Lincoln weighed 8 pounds and was 20.5 inches when he was born. He is very healthy and is the cutest thing I have ever seen! I had no idea you could open your heart and love something so much, until I became his Mom. He is my little man...I can't get enough of the guy! He has the sweetest temperment, and is a very calm baby. He is perfect in every way and is very strong like his Dad...yesterday he showed us that he can already support his head without help. He has really long arms and legs, beautiful skin and golden blonde hair. He is adorable - I can't stop staring at him.
Roxy, our little puppy, loves her new baby brother and is already a good big sister to Lincoln - she is very protective of him. She continues to bring Lincoln her toys, stares at him in his basinet to check on him and often tries to lick him to tell him she loves him.
We are enjoying our time at home with Lincoln and appreciate the support of all of our family and friends.
